Lydia Bjorhus
Lydia Bjorhus began dancing at age 6. She danced at several different area studios before finding her dance family at Hudson Dance Academy in 2002. While competing on HDA’s competition line, Lydia studied a variety of styles, including (but not limited to) tap, ballet, jazz and hiphop. Tap is her absolute favorite! Tap legends, Bill “Bojangles” Robinson and Gregory Hines, as well as current tap dancer, Savion Glover, are just a few of the many dancers who inspire her. Lydia graduated from UM-Duluth in 2011 with a BFA in art education & photography minor. Now in her 11th season of teaching dance at HDA, Lydia has received many choreography awards, most entertaining awards and has been named “top teacher” at STARSYSTEMS. In 2022, her choreography won 2nd at Applause Talent Nationals, qualifying for the Best of The Best competition! Lydia is originally from Hudson and lives in Hudson with her husband and two children.Lydia is excited for this new season at Hudson Dance Academy and is looking forward to having her daughter dance on one of HDA’s competitive lines!
